Synovial chondromatosis is a metaplastic pathology seen as multiple nodules localized in synovial joints, bursae and tendon sheath. Generally differential diagnosis can easily be done by typical radiological and histological properties. In this case report, the, nitrite-nitrate and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA)levels of serum and synovial fluid of a 67 years-old female patient were determined and compared to the levels of same age group of patients with primary osteoarthritis. The respective serum and synovial fluid nitrite-nitrate levels (7.21 µM, 8.24 µM), SOD (8.23 U/mL, 14.24 U/mL) and serum MDA levels (7.75 nmol/mL) were observed higher than our previous studies control and total knee prothesis group due to knee osteoarthritis. The routine laboratory analyses are being used for the diagnosis of synovial chondromatosis cases. Indicators proposed in this work can be used as biochemical markers besides to radiological and histological evidence and furthermore used as patient survey tools.
